Obituary for Charlotte Robinson

Charlotte  Robinson
Charlotte Robinson, 94, a long-time resident of Lake Bluff died on March 3, 2017. She was born on February 8, 1923 in Benedict, ND and grew up in Minot, ND. She graduated from Minot State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Music and English, and was a member of the Beta Theta sorority.

She was a first grade teacher for 24 years in School District 187, North Chicago. Charlotte was a life time member of the Illinois Retired Teachers Association and the Lake County IRTA. Charlotte was also an active member of the Lake Bluff Women’s Club; a member of the Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Senior Center and the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest where she performed with the Chancel Bells adult hand bell choir for many years. In addition, Charlotte performed extensively as a member of The Melodeers Chorus of Sweet Adelines International in Northbrook, and for many years, she volunteered at Lamb’s Farm Thrift Shop.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe and sisters Helen Davy of Minot, ND, and Margaret Herzog of Portland, OR. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara (Bill) Roberts of Grayslake, IL, two sons, James Robinson (Yuni) of Hong Kong, Harry Robinson of Boston, MA and three grandchildren, as well as her sister Deloris Hendrickson of Rugby, ND, her brother Dr. John A. Harchanko of Williston ND, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will take place at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Wenban Funeral Home, 320 Vine Avenue, Lake Forest. Memorial contributions may be made to Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Senior Center, 100 E. Old Mill Road, Lake Forest, IL 60045
