Obituary for Ambrose Michael Glombowski

Ambrose Michael Glombowski
Ambrose Michael Glombowski age 88, past away peacefully Monday November 14, 2016 at Lake Forest Hospital. Ambrose, or Amby by most, grew up in Port Huron MI. After a time in the Army he returned to find the girl next door grew to a young beautiful woman. Then after a few years of dating, well the die was cast for the next 57 years. Gladys Marie Kuehn became Mrs. Gladys M Glombowski on June 21, 1963. They started their journey together with Amby receiving an economics degree from Wayne State then going on for a Masters in Economics from Wayne State (now Michigan State). While Gladys moved forward with her teaching degree, Amby began his career with economics in Michigan. But Amby wanted more. On a trip to Chicago Amby acquired a prestigious job working as an analyst for the Crown Family, working personally for Lester Crown analyzing land requisitions possibilities. Amby and Gladys built their dream home in Lake Forest in 1967. Amby was very active in his community serving as president of Chicago Economics Club, Lake Forest Board of Review, and Door County Property Association to name a few. Amby loved to travel and enjoyed dogs (Black Labs), cross country skiing, golfing, hunting, fishing, hiking, dog sledding and especially sharing his ventures with his bride Gladys. With Amby and Glady’s love they have enriched many lives. Amby is loved by many and will be missed. Gladys will greet friends and loved ones Friday, November 18, 2016 from 9:00 to 10:00 am, with a funeral service starting at 10:00 AM at Wenban Funeral Home 320 Vine, Lake Forest IL.
