Obituary for Beulah Steffen
Beulah Steffen, 93, of Lake Forest, died January 31, 2017. Beulah was born August 14, 1923, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to John and Olive McQuaid. Beulah is survived by her three children, David(Georgia) Steffen, Richard Steffen (Linda), and Janet Pandzik (James); grandchildren Mark Steffen (Julia), Erik Steffen (Abby), Jennifer Steffen (Sean), Daniel Steffen (Astrid), George Pandzik and John Pandzik (Alexandria); and 3 great-grandchildren, and her sister Jeanne.
Beulah’s life was fulfilled with a love and talent for music which she was able to share playing the piano and organ even long after her significant hearing loss. She resided in Lake Bluff since 1961 following husband Ed’s retirement from a career in the U.S. Navy, living there until moving to Lake Forest Place in 2003. Beulah was a member of Grace Methodist Church, working there as secretary for over 20 years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Libertyville Chapter. She earned her Bachelors Degree from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, serving as the 1944 Class President.
Beulah was preceded in death by husband Edward J. Steffen, parents Olive and John McQuaid, and 2 sisters Patricia Jans and Barbara Swearingen.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 12 from 4:00 to 5:00 PM at Lake Forest Place. Internment will take place at a later date
